views the best pictures

When people choose to adopt a pet, they take on the responsibility of the animal's welfare, to feed, shelter and keep the pet happy and healthy. Now, many cat owners have always let their cats come in and out of the house at will, but the world outdoors is not very safe for the domestic cat. Sometimes the biggest threat is a stray cat that either fights with the pet cat or is diseased and, thus, harming the pet through contact and exposure to illness. More and more, animal experts are advising cat owners to keep their pets safe by giving them alternatives to free roaming outdoors.
Threats to Domestic Cats
The concept of confining cats to certain perimeters may seem harsh, but domestic cats face many dangers when they leave the safety of their family home. If there is a feral animal in the neighborhood, it may be wise to call the local animal control organization so they can capture the animal because of the disease the animal could be carrying to pets and people. Still, even with no wild felines in the area, dogs and other wild animals can injure the pet cat. Additionally, small rodents and larger animals do carry diseases that can make cats ill. Many other dangers to domestic cats could be mentioned.
Alternatives
Cats are actually much better off in a sheltered environment, and can be very content and definitely safer at home than those who roam. Many families with cats make sun rooms or enclose a porch with screen. In most pet stores, people can find and purchase structures that let cats enjoy time in the yard, like tubes or tent-like boxes give spaces where cats can walk about at will in perfect safety. If having trouble potty training an indoor cat, try providing more than one litter box, and consult a veterinarian. Pet owners may want to get a cat harness and leash. As long as the owner does not pull and force the cat, the cat will learn to be calm and contented on the leash and enjoy the time sitting outdoors with the owner.
Happy Cats
If people choose to keep a cat, they need to take full responsibility for the safety and well-being of the animal. Definitely, a neighborhood stray can be a threat to pets. Many cats die from fights with other cats. They can suffer from bites and puncture wounds. Domestic cats are vulnerable to tougher, feral cats and may catch diseases from such animals. Call animal control groups to capture the wild cat and make the neighborhood safer. Remember, for centuries, the pet cat, kept in a pleasant home environment, has been a happy pet.
