Cleaning pacifier sucking ways might be considered dirty. Most parents will clean pacifier by washing with tap water. But the researchers found that older people who clean pacifier to suck can keep children from the risk of asthma and hives.

This study does not prove that the technique may protect children from asthma or allergies. However, researchers believe that the possibility of transfer of oral bacteria and microbes of parents in children can boost the immune system and the digestive system which in turn makes the child they are exposed to a small risk of allergy or asthma.

“We know that bacteria are also important for growing children,” said Dr. Wilfried Karmaus from the University of Memphis, as reported by Reuters.

In this research, scientists recruited pregnant women in one of the Swedish hospitals and followed them for three years. Of the 184 infants who were observed, 80 percent have parents with allergies. After the babies were tested at the age of 18 and 36 months.

In the first test 46 infants have eczema and 10 had symptoms of asthma. Children who use the usual dot cleaned by his mother smoked by 63 percent less likely to have eczema and 88 percent less affected by asthma.

While in the second test, when the baby was 36 months, the difference for asthma began to disappear, while babies with pacifiers are cleaned by his mother smoked still have a 49 percent lower risk of developing eczema.

Researchers believe that more research must be done to demonstrate clearly the benefits of cleaning with megisapnya dot. Before clear, researchers would not recommend this technique for the parents.

Asthma in Children

Introduction:

Coughs and colds are infectious diseases that are very common in children. However, there are some children who have frequent or persistent cough. There may be a number of diseases like tuberculosis and respiratory infections that may cause this, particularly in children living in slums and overcrowded areas. The commonest cause of a frequent or persistent cough in an otherwise healthy child is bronchial asthma. It is estimated that, in Delhi, one out of every five children has at least one episode of wheezing. Recurrent episodes of wheezing and cough are called asthma.

The exact reason for asthma being so common is not known. However, a number of factors may contribute to its rising incidence. These include changing lifestyles, decreasing early childhood infections, which direct the infant’s immune system towards allergy rather than protection against infection, increasing pollution and an increasing awareness of this disorder.

While pollution is a causative factor, it must be remembered that asthma is very common even in developed countries like Australia where pollution is not a major problem. Thus, there must be many more factors that contribute to its causation.

What exactly is asthma?

When a child suffers from repeated episodes of cough and wheezing (a high pitched sound heard each time the child exhales out air) he is said to be suffering from asthma. Generally, there must be more than three episodes before a label of asthma is given. Many parents, and even some doctors, think that these children are suffering from allergic bronchitis, wheezy bronchitis, bronchitis, nasobronchial allergy, allergic cough, spasmodic bronchitis, chest congestion, hyper-reactive airway disease or change of season problems. No matter what name is given to the above-described disorder, experts believe that the correct medical term is ‘asthma’

The importance of using the correct term, asthma, is that only then would the doctor and the patient start prescribing or taking the appropriate treatment. Use of appropriate therapy makes the child’s life more comfortable and prevents him from developing the long-term, probably permanent, damaging effects of the disease.

It must be emphasized that not all patients with asthma wheeze. Some only have a cough; others have breathing difficulty during play or exercise only. Take the word of the child’s paediatrician seriously. Normally, no laboratory tests are required to confirm the diagnosis. The clinical history of the illness as told by the parents, and a physical examination by the paediatrician is enough. Sometimes tests like chest X-ray, peak flow rate and lung function tests may be requested.

What is the treatment?

Two types of medicines are used for treatment of asthma:

  •  those that relieve symptoms

  •  those that prevent subsequent attacks.

Relievers reverse the symptoms of cough, breathing difficulty and wheeze quickly. Such medicines include: salbutamol, terbutaline, fometerol, theophyllines and ipratropium. Some of these medicines can be given by inhalation only (as inhalers or by nebulizers), while others are given by mouth (as tablets or syrups) or as injections. Preventive medicines are those that reduce the chances of recurrent episodes, thereby improving the quality of life of the child. Steroids, cromolyn, salmeterol, leucotriene inhibitors and long-acting theophyllines belong to this group. The best way to administer these medicines is by the inhalation route.

Inhalers are devices by which a medicine is converted into an aerosol or mist. The patient inhales this aerosol. There are two types of inhalers – metered dose inhalers (MDIs) and dry powder inhalers (DPIs). When the MDI is pressed or actuated, a measured or metered dose of the medicine comes out as a mist. With DPIs, the patient inhales a powder contained in a capsule. The DPI (e.g., Rotahaler, Accuhaler) is particularly useful for small children.

Inhalers deposit the medicine directly into the air passages and only very small (micro) quantities of the medicine actually go into the body. This way the side effects are minimised and the effect is almost instantaneous as the medicine goes to the site of the disease directly. Owing to minimal side effects, preventive medicines (even steroids) can be safely given for prolonged periods of time.

To further minimize the side–effects of the MDIs and to enhance the effect of each dose ‘spacers’ are recommended. The nebulizer is another device to generate an aerosol. It is especially useful for small children and infants. Since aerosols are the better methods of delivery of medicine, inhalers and nebulizers have become more popular than tablets and syrups in the developed countries. In our country also, people are overcoming their inhibitions and beliefs and are using inhalers as the first line of treatment. No more does an educated Indian parent consider the inhaler as a ‘last resort’.

Inhalers are not addicting. However, asthma is a chronic disease and requires prolonged treatment.

Most children improve when they are put on inhalers. Although the paediatricians and paediatric lung specialists prescribe prolonged treatment, parents have a tendency to stop the medicines within days of improvement. Since, asthma is a chronic disease symptoms can come back, this explains the so – called ‘failures’ of inhalation therapy.

There is a 50% chance that an asthmatic child will be free from asthma in later childhood. However, those who have severe disease, have other allergies or have other members of the family (or extended family) suffering from asthma are likely to require therapy for very long periods. There is proof in medical science that all such patients improve on prolonged treatment and their disease remains under control.

The commonest cause of persistent cough in an otherwise healthy child is bronchial asthma. It is estimated that, in Delhi, one out of every five children has at least one episode of wheezing.

Peanuts, Peanut Products Cause Most Severe Food Allergy Reactions In Children

Peanuts, Peanut Products Cause Most Severe Food Allergy Reactions In Children
1 starnot yet rated

Raise your hand if you like peanut butter. Most of us raise our hands, but some are forced to keep theirs down. They’re allergic.

Food allergies affect nearly 10 percent of children younger than 4-years-old, and the peanut allergy causes the most severe reactions. Exposure to even trace quantities of peanuts can lead to a fatal reaction called anaphylaxis, causing breathing problems and heart arrhythmias that can lead to sudden death.

Only 20 percent of kids grow out of it, so if it’s not you, chances are someone around you deals with a peanut allergy. There are more people with peanut allergies than ever before[1]. Rather than make jokes about those missing the joy of PB&J, let’s see what we can do to help.

Paranoid over Peanuts. Thanks to George Washington Carver (who found 300 new uses for the legume) we now have peanuts everywhere, and some sufferers aren’t sure how close in contact they can get.

Thirty kids, ranging from 4 to 15, with documented peanut allergies were challenged by casual exposure to peanut butter. Their previous reactions stemmed from being kissed by someone who ate peanut butter, being near PB&J sandwiches, even being exposed to peanut breath.

In the study, dishes were prepared with a scoop of peanut butter and placed alongside tuna and mint extract to hide the peanut odor. Other dishes replaced the peanut butter with soy butter as a placebo test. The dishes were covered with gauze and held to the kids’ noses for 10 minutes. For an hour, they were watched for reactions.

No one exposed to the peanut butter had a reaction. One person reported an itch on the roof of the mouth, but it was provoked by the placebo test and resolved spontaneously. Based on this, researchers found it unlikely that the smell of peanuts triggers an allergic reaction.

Another large study of 4,685 peanut-allergic individuals found only 1 percent reported reactions to airborne peanut dust, 91 percent reported ingestion was the culprit. This should be somewhat reassuring that the smell of peanuts is likely not harmful.

Butter Clean Up. A pinch of nuts on the tongue is enough to cause a reaction. The common peanut, Arachis hypogaea, has eight different protein allergens named after its scientific name, from Ara h1 to Ara h8. Some people are allergic to one, and some to all eight, so wiping up the peanut butter becomes important. A study showed liquid and bar soap cleans Ara h1 just fine, but antibacterial hand-sanitizer left traces on 6 of 12 hands[2]. Most household cleaning agents were sufficient in cleaning tables.

Symptoms alert. Reactions typically occur within 20 minutes of exposure and can range from itchy skin (most common) to GI complaints (least common). Asthma reactions (coughing, wheezing) or anaphylaxis are the most serious. Ingesting nuts is the most common cause, and rarely does skin contact cause a problem.

A third of people will have a second reaction from the exposure 1-8 hours after the first reaction has resolved. Allergic people should wear MedicAlert bracelets and have injectable epinephrine (e.g., EpiPen) readily available.

If you’re peanut allergy free, do what you can to help those less fortunate avoid the risks and just enjoy the jelly.

Peanuts, Peanut Products Cause Most Severe Food Allergy Reactions In Children misinforms the public. Peanuts and peanut products do not cause the most severe food allergy reactions in children. Severity depends upon how allergic a child is. Anaphylactic reactions are not limited to peanuts.

Day 287: Asthma – How I Prevented it in my Children

Where Asthma is genetically in a Family Bloodline – like in mine – where my grandfather had Chronic Asthma and died from it, my uncle had Chronic Asthma and died from it – the chances of it occurring in the Children down the Line is increased.

How Genetics play a role in this will be the topic of another blog.

Within this one, we are specifically looking at my two Children. My Daughter at the age of 5 suddenly developed Asthma. We investigated what to do and came across Kinesiology. We took her for a session where I was not present. There was a Traumatic Event at the Home where my ex-wife suddenly Miscarried one night and we had to get her to the Hospital and leave my Daughter at the neighbours.

My wife was at the hospital overnight and the next morning I took my Daughter to the Beach Front where we had Ice-Cream while feeding the doves at the beach – which was something she liked A Lot.

During the Kinesiology Session I received a phone call, I was asked whether I took her on That Morning to a place where I gave her Ice-Cream. I said ‘Yes, I did that’. The Kinesiologist deprogrammed the Trigger that was related to the previous night’s Trauma and Anxiety and Fear and the Asthma Immediately Stopped. This obviously Peaked my Interest in Kinesiology which I then used extensively over a period of 12 (Twelve) Years in my own Deprogramming and Reprogramming to Effective Awareness.

Obviously, this is not just something Randomly done and require an Extensive Understanding and Specificity and Objective Self-Honesty to be able to Adjust ones Pre-Ordained Existence.

And the Consequences of this is that everyone around you will no longer know you as ‘who you were’ and will React to the ‘New You’ – Mostly in most Unfavourable Ways.

So, do not use Kinesiology unless you have Very Clear Understanding of How-to and within this you will need a Kinesiologist and it is a Very Expensive Process.
With my Son, the situation was different. I was present at the Moment when the Asthma Triggered. He was Playing with someone in the House, who was Tickling him and during the Tickling he became Anxious and Gasping for Air and his Chest started Closing-up.

At this Stage I have already acquired Extensive Skills in relation to How the Human Actually Functions and How-to Direct the Will of the Life-Force to make Clear Decisions Immediately while in fact Walking with-it As the Person in Real-Time. And therefore I could Move with the Life-Force as Myself – Equal and One – and thus Confirm that the Point is Clear and Support the Person to the Correction.

So I Immediately indicated to him, Directly at the Level of his Life-Awareness to Stop and to Not Go Into the Condition of Fear where he was going as he was Creating a Problem. I Stood with him until he Corrected it and the Chest Opened and the Condition Never Re-occurred.

The Skills Necessary to Walk with a Life-Force As Yourself and Another – One and Equal – is taught through the Desteni Material and one can start with that with the DIP Lite course. There is no Quick fix – you’re not suddenly going to be Aware of what Life-Force is, where it is Situated in the Physical Body and How-to Move with-it and How you can Confirm this through the Movement of your Own Life-Force within you. As the Life-Force is Connected Equal and One, and has Nothing to do with your Consciousness, your Thoughts, your Feelings, your Emotions, your Imagination and Everything you currently are Aware of.

In Time, in the Future – Asthma will become a Preventable Condition.
I will do several blogs around this showing the Multi-Facetted Nature of Asthma that is not only a Physical Condition and is not necessarily just based on the Chest closing-up. There is also Mental Asthma that can take on the form of Obsession and Compulsion with Positive Thinking, Love and Energy and takes on Physical Conditions such as Extreme Physical Exercise, conditions such as Anorexia and Bulimia – it is all Conditions with which one Re-Focus oneself from Fear and Anxiety that Stems from Childhood Events that you did Not Understand and that you did Not Manage and where you had No Parent present to be able to Realise that you are experiencing the Condition of Fear or of Anxiety. Parents tend to Treat Children as Stupid, just because they are not Equal in their Language-Ability.

The Child, is Superior to the parent in the first 7 (Seven) Years as a Quantum Physical Being, which is why only Children goes to Heaven as the Bible implies. You have to Become like a Child, to enter Heaven. Thus you have to Return to the Quantum Physical Condition/Awareness that Exists in the First Few Years of a Child and is the Foundation through which a Child Integrate the Total Consciousness on Earth and is the Time within which the Child Construct the Mind-Parameters that will create the Personalities – mostly obviously: Personality Disorders actually – because the Parent have No-Skill whatsoever and are also in a Mental Disorder Condition.

This is Why the World is in a Mess.
Because the Foundation-Stage at which Learning Takes Place is Not Understood at all and from Generation to Generation only Disorder is Transferred and No Actual-Understanding. It takes a minimum, of 14 (Fourteen) Years to acquire Skill that will Correct these Conditions. This Should have Happened during the 14 (Fourteen) Formative-Years of a Child and it Didn’t.

Many react to the Desteni Message, as they Must – because no one wants to Hear that Everything they’ve Ever Known is a Lie. Yet no two Human Beings completely Trust each other because Always the Little Voice in the Back tells you the Person May Be Lying and is Only doing so Because you as a Human Being Lie at least 3 (Three) Times every 10 (Ten) Minutes that you are Thinking or Speaking. This is already known in Psychology, yet the Individual Human continues to Present itself as a ‘Moral Being and as somewhat of a ‘Higher Consciousness’.
That Science has Proof – is a Lie.

Understanding How you Function and Why you Function the Way you do, where Every Thought Originates from, How you Created it, where Every Feeling Originate from and How you Create it – should be a Common Sense Realisation that this Must be Understood, if you are to Be a Being of Integrity. If you do not Understand this in its Mechanical Specific Detail, You Cannot Trust You – Ever.

Book Review - Asthma Allergies Children: A Parent"s Guide

About the Book

Allergies are increasing.  It may be something simple as an annoying itching of skin or eyes, to a stuffed nose or tightening or sensitivity of the throat, to debilitating sneezing fits, all the way to life-threatening asthma attacks or shock from eating certain foods.

Between fifteen and twenty percent of all Americans suffer from allergies. That includes 35 million people from allergic rhinitis, which is commonly excused as a runny nose.  It occurs when you breathe in something you are allergic to, such as dust, dander, or pollen. Over 15 million people suffer from asthma and between 6 and 8 percent of children suffer from food allergies. Children in particular, can experience misery in small or large doses, and finding out the cause of the problem may be a challenge.

The kicker is that studies are showing that less than 50 percent of all doctors treat these diseases properly.  The results are tragic for personal health and for the nation’s health care bills, resulting in tens of thousands of medical emergencies, billions of dollars in costs, and a diminished quality of life for millions of children.

In their new book Asthma, Allergies, Children: A Parent’s Guide two of the most experienced pediatric allergy specialists in the country tackle the myths and realities of allergies and asthma and offer up a new manifesto to help parents and children cope with the irritants and hazards of the world we live in.  Their easy-to-understand and lively book takes the mystery out of the medicine and pathology, using stories and humor to educate and motivate people to take the right actions.

The allergic process is compared what happens to with the military in a battle or a war.

Initially, the special forces parachute in and do reconnaissance in enemy territory, identifying command centers and strategic targets for attack.  Then the infantry lands and there’s aerial bombardment, where the enemy is destroyed, but the surrounding tissue is threatened with collateral damage.  Finally, there’s a third phase, with land mines and unexploded bombs left behind, and snipers and saboteurs remain underground while the civilian population struggles to recover.

The culprit is inflammation, the doctors say: “Inflammation is the most dangerous allergic response.  Redness, swelling, pain, itching, or heat can all be important symptoms of an allergy.  What happens if a cut goes untreated? An alarming infection can set in.  Now imagine this happening in your child’s sinuses.  Just because you can’t see the inflammation doesn’t mean that your child is not suffering.”

Inflammation in the lungs can cause asthma – a wheezing shortness of breath that can be minor or so severe as to cause permanent damage and even death.

Many physicians have a hard time identifying asthma; it is misdiagnosed 30% of the time.  They are even reluctant to use the A-word, because it is alarming to parents.  But denial is counterproductive and a wait-and-see attitude is a recipe for chronic inflammation and permanent damage to the lungs.

Parents can use the same checklist of symptoms used by physicians to help diagnose asthma in school-aged children:

Does your child:

  • Make noisy or wheezy sounds when breathing?

  • Have a hard time taking a deep breath?

  • Have a hard time breathing in cold weather?

  • Develop coughs that won’t go away?

  • Complain about chest tightness or pain after running?

  • Wake up at night coughing?

  • Have itchy, puffy or burning eyes or a runny, stuffy nose?

  • Cough around pets?

In addition, one of the best diagnostic tools centers on a quick evaluation of the child’s quality of life and boils down to three simple questions:

  1. Do you sleep tight?

  2. Do you work right?

  3. Do you play with might?

Each of these questions reflects a key signal of illness and health in the asthmatic child.

All sorts of misnomers and common myths are clarified. Big cities, with a high concentration of pollutants in the air, are a canary in a mine for the rest of the country.  But no region is safe; recent research shows that asthma is as prevalent in rural areas as in the cities.

Parents who are fearful of using steroids because athletes have given them a bad name.  But this is an urban myth.  In reality your child’s medicine is a different thing entirely, an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid, derived from the adrenal cortex, not the anabolic steroids which turns 97-pound weaklings into the Incredible Hulk, which are derived from testosterone.

Food allergies, particularly, are misunderstood and misdiagnosed and frequently result in malnutrition.

The bottom line? The most important thing that parents can do is to see an allergy specialist.  Get a referral or get an appointment, do whatever it takes.  Seeing a specialist is to best way to make sure your child gets the best and most effective treatment.

My Take on the BookI have been very fortunate that my kids have never had any severe allergies! Saying this, I know of numerous other parents that are dealing with these allergies. This book is set up to be a ready made reference to take you as a reader to a further knowledge of these allergies and what you can do to assist in both identification of the situation as well as deal with the aftermath of the allergies itself.

I looked the fact that the book was easy to read yet still gives enough scientific and medical background so that anyone can understand. The book was full of useful practical advice for parents of a child with asthma or allergies. As I mentioned this was an easy read, but what is nice is that the book is full of many types of resources that any family can read  no matter what the situation is.

All-in-all this was a great book and a perfect gift for someone who is dealing with these issues on a daily basis!

Allergic children - five common allergens that trigger allergies in children

Tree Allergies

Allergies, or an overreaction of the body to a substance is considered hazardous to wrong views, can cause allergic reactions in children with mild to life threatening. Vary in a given protein is usually the root of the problem, even if the timer. Here are five common allergens to which the child is most at risk, and some suggestions for the administration.

Tree Allergies

Food - A growing number of children with allergies, the food isContext and seem to be the most common foods as peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, eggs, milk, cheese, crabs, lobsters, fish and soy. With such a variety of possible products, one of the best ways to determine which foods lead to problems is to keep a food diary. An allergic reaction can happen, you have a record of what was consumed, and can better identify foods that can cause a problem for your child.

Tree Allergies

Try to avoid foods and see if there is suspicionshots. If there is another event, continue on the other, eliminating the foods that may contain the allergen. Involve the pediatrician in the process, and advice to develop a business continuity plan in case of need.

Tree Allergies

Hair - 80 million American households have pets in the family. Is it any wonder that the hair is a common trigger of allergy for children? Dander is invisible to the naked eye, the protein found in skin cells, it is also possibleanimal saliva and urine. Hair can also win dandruff, which is sticky, so do not rub a furry animal can cause a reaction.

If your pet from the time of their child, and there is a problem trying to get rid of bathing pet sheds skin, but ask your vet first. Creating space for your child out of reach for washing clothes and bedding often without animal hair, make their way has been found to remove in the room. Use a high efficiency particle arresting air purifier, which adds an extra layerProtection against flying hair, who often attacks other air pollutants in your home.

Environment - Seasonal allergies to trees, grass, grass pollen is difficult to avoid, especially during peak periods. Limit outdoor activity when pollen in the dry wind spread more capable. Plan outdoor activities for the days when pollen levels are low, and if possible to avoid the outdoors during the early morning hours, when pollen is usuallyhigher.

Stay informed of your child's school by allergies, write a note for those days when it is not advisable for your child to have outside, and if necessary get a note from a doctor on the file, you should questions arise. Followed to ensure that all carers of your child has emergency numbers and a clear, if an emergency occurs.

Insect stings - wasps, yellow jackets, hornets, black flies and other insects can be a serious threat toThose who are allergic. The symptoms are often an indication of the child's body to be extended to overdrive swelling, dizziness, weakness, vomiting and headache. If these symptoms occur, consult a physician immediately. Then make an appointment with your pediatrician and have a monitoring EpiPen, which could be used in case of emergency to counter the heavy life-threatening symptoms.

In fact, if your child has an allergy to stings, you will learn everything you can aboutInsects, when and where it is most common, and help your child avoid places and activities that your child may be exposed.

Families - pollutants such as spores, dust mites, mold, pollen, bacteria and viruses are present in the cleanest homes. It is a constant nuisance and irritation of an allergic child. Many of these irritants are too small to see, but the body of your child knows that there are and produce histamine as a reactionIt often turns out to be a runny nose, sneezing, coughing, dark patches under the eyes, and a general lack of energy.

To fight against one of the best ways to solve the invisible air, is to eliminate permanently with a high efficiency particle arrest (HEPA) air cleaners, the sub-micron particles, by definition, remove small as 0.3 microns. And while you might not be able to see the difference, the body of your child will feel the difference.

In most cases, children with food allergies must be a rotation system. When a child is more prone to allergies, always vulnerable to things like their system continues to grow. This means that if you feed the same foods all the time on the child because the food they are allergic to cut to develop new allergies.

Tree Allergies

The speed of rotation of the food is very simpleif you learn to use it. Children with food allergies will not be able to have the same foods within four days. In other words, what are the ingredients of foods that have given Monday to Friday can be repeated. This will ensure that the antibodies were removed from the inside to the food system and the child does not develop a new food allergy.
